🏆 A Huge Congratulations to the Honeybadgers! 🏆 Huge congratulations to the Honeybadgers FC for clinching the 2024 Rhino Cup Champions League - Zimbabwe Iganyana-Division League Trophy! A 0-0 draw against rivals Iwisa Sparrows FC at Ngotsheni Ground, Dete in the final game secured the title. Iwisa Sparrows also maintained their unbeaten record. A match of true rivalry and respect! This season’s league was nothing short of thrilling, with 380 action-packed matches that brought both joy and heartbreak to the 20 community teams. Beyond the field, every player was a champion of conservation, giving poaching a red card and creating an environment where wildlife can thrive. We are thrilled to announce the handover of a brand-new, solar-powered classroom block to Lupote Primary School! This incredible project was made possible through the Jealous Mpofu Community Fund, supported by proceeds from Jealous Mpofu’s @tusk_org Wildlife Ranger Award and generous friends in the Netherlands. Hailing from Lupote himself, Senior Tracker Jealous Mpofu has shown us the true meaning of giving back. This classroom block, complete with two classrooms, furniture and an office (now the Headmaster’s office), comes at a crucial time for the school. The handover ceremony, officiated by the Honorable Minister of State Matabeleland North, Richard Moyo, and graced by our two local Chiefs, Chief Nelukoba and Chief Nekatambe, was a grand event attended by local Lupote community members, government representatives and Hwange Rural District Council. Meet the Sianyanga Community Anti-poaching Unit Volunteers! Since 2021, this incredible team of men and women has worked tirelessly to protect livestock and wildlife around their community. Inspired by the Mabale Community Anti-poaching Unit, they formed their own group and now patrol for snares in their area which is one of the communities on the border of Hwange National. 👣 To date, they’ve completed 226 patrols and removed 128 snares! These volunteers are heroes—saving wildlife, protecting livestock, and standing against poaching. To support their efforts, we’re building a community garden that will provide fresh vegetables for their families.
